 Custom Golf Club Services

For all ages and skill levels

There's no secret that custom fit clubs can help your scores but how do you know your clubs match your custom specs? Here at DC Custom Golf, we not only consult as to best fit possible but analyze and measure all clubs to ensure perfect fit and perfect build are in concert.

Regripping

Starting at $4 Per Club

The grip is the only part of the club that you are physically touching during the golf swing. That being said, it needs to be comfortable first of all. But also should provide enough traction to help maintain grip pressure. Size can also be dialed in to a custom fit whether it's  going up to a mid-size, going down to an undersize, or adding varying levels of build up tape. Show off your personality with colored grips. New grips are one of the easiest ways to add some flare to your already custom set up.

Reshafting

Starting at $20 Per Club

At DC Custom Golf, accuracy and attention to detail are paramount. In regards to reshafting, we ensure that each club head is cleaned out as much as possible and that each shaft tip is prepared to maximize the strength of the bond when epoxy is reapplied. Many repair sites will merely cut and glue with little attention paid to security of the bond or how the weight is being affected.

Here, we can spine align, tip cut, add swing weight, and dial in the length with tolerances significantly tighter than any manufacturer.

Loft/Lie Spec and Adjust

Starting at $5

Not only is it essential to be fitted for the proper lie angle, but verifying and double checking is key to actual performance. Many manufacturers and club repair facilities will offer to bend custom lies, however, many don’t take time to actually measure and are usually guessing. Even .5 degrees off could be a full club off. Woods, hybrids, and putters can also be spec’d out to ensure best fit. Especially with the modern adjustable adapters on woods, it’s essential to know that your 9.5 driver setting is accurate. It has been our experience that only about 10% of clubs from the factory or even other repair places are close enough to fit our tolerances. Continually, many forged irons and wedges will move slightly over time. It’s recommended to have them checked at least once a year.

Shorten or Lengthen

Starting at $6

Whether you're looking to experiment, change the way the weight is distributed or feels, or you're trying to modify the length for a shorter or taller player, we'll get you dialed in while still factoring in playability and weight

Frequency Analysis

Starting at $10

Shaft "stiffness" can be one of the trickiest aspects of customization and fitting.  With many manufacturers out there, not all stiff flex or regular flex shafts are created equally nor measure the same stiffness. The only tangible method to find flex is Frequency Analysis.

A method developed by Kim Braly (the KB in KBS Shafts), shaft frequency is the foundation that the shaft manufacturers use and rely on in their design and production. Measuring in cycles per minute (CPM) will give the builder an idea of how any given club will play and can be fine tuned for all golfers

Background

A native of Santa Clarita, CA, I played all the junior events I could (High School CIF, SCPGA, AJGA, etc)  and continued through the Junior College and Division One College level. I’ve now been in the professional custom club building and fitting world for over 15 years.

Playing Resume:

A four year letter winner and 2004 Foothill League MVP (lowest scoring average) for Hart High School

CA State Team Junior College Championship for College of the Canyons 2006

Walk on for The Ohio State University  2006-2008

Played in scores of USGA qualifiers, State Amateurs, City Amateurs, etc

Professionally, I’ve been a master builder and/or fitter recently for KZG (manufacturer), Urban Golf Performance (UGP), and Golden Golf Mart in the San Gabriel Valley. Now I have been doing my own thing for a little over 5 years. Combining the years of experience building and playing at high levels has given me a unique insight into the way assembly as well as fit can drastically affect performance. Whether you’re a high handicap weekend warrior or a high level amateur or professional, here at DC Custom Golf, we have the resources and knowledge to help you dial in your game.
